The annual Kids Shopping Day at Thrift Store and More brought a large crowd through the second hand store.
Children ages fifth grade and younger were invited to shop for Christmas gifts for family members on Wednesday, December 12. Sixty-four children took the opportunity to get their shopping done.
Each child received a $10 gift certificate to use towards purchasing the gifts. This gave youth the opportunity to shop, but also taught them how to budget during the holiday season.
After gifts were selected many volunteers were available to help wrap and label the gifts. Approximately 13 volunteers helped during the event and other volunteers helped with set up.
Kathy Diedrich made snowmen filled with goodies for the children. Each child that visited the Thrift Store during the shopping event was automatically registered to win the prize. Registration will continue through December 22, when winners will be drawn.
