Rain recorded in area last week

Posted by Kim
The area received rain last week in amounts averaging around 2 inches. Charles Bowar, National Weather Observer, of Kennebec recorded 2.31 inches from Sept. 19 through Sept. 23. The Kennebec area received around .90 of rain the week before and .96 inch the week before that. Rain accumulation in September has been over 4 inches in the Kennebec area.

Frank Leichtnam from north of Presho recorded 1.51 inches since the 15th of September.

The rain and cool cloudy weather last week slowed fall harvest of millet, late season haying, and winter wheat seeding due to wet field conditions. The sun returned for the weekend and temperatures returned to more seasonable 70's and 80's.
