[b]Stanley/Jones Memorial Clinic joins Rural Health Care, Inc[/b]

Beginning November 1, 2005, the Stanley/Jones Memorial Clinic in Presho will become part of Rural Health Care, Inc., to better serve the residents of Presho and the surrounding area.
Rural Health Care, Inc., is funded in part by federal funds through grants awarded by the Bureau of Primary Health Care says Rita Wagner, CEO of Rural Health Care, Inc. We have clinics in Gettysburg, Onida, Murdo, Highmore and now Presho.

We have board members from each of the communities we represent, which meet monthly and provide the direction, policies and oversight for Rural Health Care, Inc., added Wagner. The newly elected representatives for the Stanley/Jones Clinic are Steve Hayes, Tami McClanahan, and Doug Eppard. Steve Hayes was just elected as Treasurer of Rural Health Care, Inc.

[b]Vivian Centennial Commemorative Shotgun to be raffled[/b]

The Vivian Community Club will meet at the fire hall, Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005 at 7:30 pm. Centennial committee and subcommittees will report their current status. Everyone is welcome to get involved with the planning of Vivians 100th Celebration.
The Vivian Centennial Shotgun has arrived and nearly 200 raffle tickets have already been sold.

The Vivian Community Club is sponsoring, as a Centennial celebration fund-raiser, the raffle of a 12 gauge Over/Under Ruger Red Label shotgun. Modern Woodmen of America is matching $ 1000. The shotgun was designed with etchings of Vivians history and recognizes many facets of the towns first 100 years. It is gold inlaid and includes the Vivian Centennial Logo.

A limited number of chances (300) at one for $ 20 or 3 for $ 50 will be sold. Chances are available at BankWest, or from Joe Mienen, Lonis Wendt, Marsha Hullinger and Mike Authier.

Vivien Burns, 102
Vivien Donahue Burns, daughter of John and Catherine Donahue, was born November 29, 1902 in Chamberlain, SD. She was baptized in the Catholic Church in Chamberlain, December 4, 1902.

Jack V. Heath, 89
Jack V. Heath passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2005 at his home in Roseburg, OR. Jack was born in Vivian, SD October 9, 1916 to Jesse V. Heath and Amy Washburn Heath.

Roger Thomas, 86
Memorial services were held Saturday, October 22, 2005, Asbury Methodist Church, Sioux Falls, for Rev. Roger J. Thomas, 86, who died Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at Sioux Valley Hospice Cottage, Sioux Falls.

Merl Ellis
Merl Ellis, long time resident of Iona, died October 14, 2005. Funeral services were held October 18, 2005 at the Iona United Methodist Church with Pastor Royal Archer officiating. Internment was in the Iona cemetery.

Diane Vedral, 55
Diane Vedral died October 12, 2005. The funeral mass was held Monday October 17, 2005 at St Josephs Church in Gregory.
