Kennebec Challenge ends in tie between two clubs

Members of the Medicine Creek Riding Club traded their cowboy boots for basketball shoes Saturday night when they met members of the Kennebec Town & Country Club at the Kennebec gym for the basketball game of the year, the Kennebec Challenge. No champion was declared, as the final score was tied 35 to 35 at the final buzzer. Speculation runs high that a rematch is in the works for next year.

The two clubs worked together to hold a fund raiser to benefit the entire community. It was a team effort between both clubs that paid off. We all had a good time and successfully raised money for a much needed building at the arena, commented Wes Moore MCR Club president. Early reports estimate the event raised around $ 2,000. Fraternal organizations Modern Woodmen of America and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will contribute matching funds.
