Welcome back home to "Frenchy" Authier who has spent the winter in Phoenix, AZ.
The second graders in a San Antonio school hosted a visiting celebrity, namely the San Antonio Spurs guard, Tony Parker. Tony asked the class, "Who knows, what color is the state flower of Texas?" Little Burke Severyn waved his hands and Parker said, "Can you tell me?" He told him it was blue. Then Tony asked, "Who knows the name of the Texas state flower," Burke waved his hands and told him, the Texas Blue Bonnet.

Tony then walked over to Burke's desk and gave him two tickets to the Spurs and Mavericks playoff basketball game. Burke and his dad Mark Severyn attended the game as did his big brother Brandon and their mother Carol Severyn. The boys are ardent Spur's fans and attend a number of games each season.

Beth and Grace Erickson spent Thursday night with Della and Jerry Mader and family at New Underwood. They spent Friday and Saturday in Spearfish and attended Avany Severyn's graduation exercises at BHSU. They returned home on Sunday.

Colleen, recovering from knee surgery, will return to work on Monday at the Community College in Pierre.

Having dinner at the Junction for Mother's Day were Dave and Janice Moore, Larry and Lez Moore, Lex and Lane, and Donna Erikson and Karsten.

On Friday night the Moores visited with Bernice Moore and Craig and Janis Moore, Gillette WY.

One more thing about my mailbox - Ron gently delivers my daily paper so the baby birds will not be disturbed. The mother Purple Finch is getting a bit friendlier.

Marsha Hullinger hosted the Thursday night bridge club with two tables in play. Winning prizes were Eunice Hullinger and Lucille Bower.

Spending the day visiting with Palmer Strom were his cousins from Rapid City, Georgina and Harlan Uecker. Palmer said they had good luck fishing, and good visiting.

Avany Severyn graduated from BHSU on Saturday with a degree in Social Sciences. Attending from Vivian were her husband Leigh Severyn, Dan and Terry Severyn, Makayla, Dylan and Jayme Severyn.

Mother's Day guests at Colleen Booth's home were Florence Parker, Dave and Kim Jensen and Amelia, Viborg, S.D. Kenny and Staci Booth, Lexie and Haley and Evie Knutson.
