Celebrate the Holiday Season in Presho Friday night
Presho Area Chamber’s annual Hometown Holiday Open House will be held Friday, Dec. 2nd in Presho from 4:30 p.m. To 7:30 p.m. This year’s event moves to Friday night and will include live entertainment as Jade Monkey will preform at Hutch’s following the open houses.
An Ugly Sweater Contest will be held between the Presho businesses. Business owners and staff members who want to participate need to sign up with chamber director Karen Willis by Thursday to be included on the voting ballot. The judging will include three categories; Most Christmas, Most Creative and Ugliest. Open house attendees, after touring the various businesses and view the sweaters, will have the opportunity to vote for the winner in each category.
Businesses throughout Presho are encouraged to dress their windows, offices and businesses in holiday lights and decorations and participate in the window decorating contest. Shelia Manger and family will award a first place cash prize to the best display in honor of her mother, the late Joan Slominski, who took great joy in decorating for Christmas.
Many businesses will offer holiday shopping specials, refreshments, and door prizes. See a complete list of participating businesses in the Chamber’s Open House ad on page 3.
Businesses without a Main Street location will have a booth at the Presho Fire Hall or at Jet Lanes.
Be sure to sign up for your chance to win one of three $50 Presho Chamber Buck certificates to be given away the following Monday. Chamber bucks may be spent just like cash at any chamber member business.
Jet Lanes will offer youth bowling for $1 from 5 to 6 p.m and the Presho City Librarian Laverne Olson will read Christmas stories at the library from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.
The Lyman Youth Group will be singing Christmas carols and ringing bells for the Salvation Army outside Jet Lanes Bowling Alley.
The Presho Area Chamber invites everyone to Presho Friday evening to enjoy a walk or drive through town to view the lights, and stop in at area businesses to start your holiday shopping.
Conclude your evening by joining your friends for a dancing good time at Hutch’s; wear your ugly or unique holiday sweater and receive a free beverage.
