Memorial services were held at the Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, Thursday, March 11, 2004, for Lula Clutter Fredericksen, who died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell.
Lula Mae, was born October 10, 1927, to Floyd and Pearl (Hawn) Clutter, at Pukwana. She grew up in Pukwana and graduated from Pukwana High school. She taught school at White Lake.
On April 30, 1948, she married Eugene Fredericksen, White Lake, where they lived until 1974 when they moved to Plankinton. In 1996 they moved to Mitchell where she was employed at the Aurora- Brule Nursing Home for 18 years. She had been a member of St Peter’s Catholic Church, White Lake and was a member of Holy Family Catholic church, Mitchell; a member of Catholic Daughters and was currently Commander of the DAV Auxiliary, Mitchell.
Survivors include her husband, Gene; 6 children: Jean (Dale) Kelly, Thornton, Colorado; Partricia (Terry) Hewitt, Sioux Falls; Randy(Valerie) Fredericksen, Kearney, Nebraska; Steven (Jill) Fredericksen, Rapid City; Lynette Salonen, Sioux Falls and Rick (Julie) Fredericksen, Muncie, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: William Clutter, Martindale, Texas, and Jerry (Anne) Clutter, New Cuyama, California; a sister Edith Hanson, Rapid City.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and a brother Dale.
Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell were in charge of arrangements.
(Lula’s parents, Floyd and Pearl Clutter, were formerly residents of the Reliance area. Pearl Clutter belonged to the Johnson-Peterson American Legion Auxiliary and was a Gold Star Mother.)
