Margaret Lebeda, 76
MaFuneral services for Margaret Lebeda, who died Saturday, December 19 at Maryhouse in Pierre, will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 10 am at the Zion Lutheran Church in Presho. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, December 22 from 5-7 pm at the Zion Lutheran Church with a prayer service to follow at 7 pm. Burial will be at the Murdo City Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
Katheren Margaret Lebeda was born on February 8, 1933 in Wood, SD to Elmo and Katie (Krieger) Mitchell. She grew up in Wood where she also attended school.
Margaret was united in marriage to Anton Lebeda on December 9, 1955 in Pierre. Margaret worked as a custodian at the Presho Sale Barn and Dakota Prairie Bank. She was also a dedicated care taker of the Isburg-Hofmeister Funeral Chapel.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and she made the best caramel rolls! She also enjoyed going to rummage sales, having coffee with her friends and her service to her Church. Her favorite activity was taking care of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Margaret was a member of the LWML, Zion Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband Anton of Presho; three sons: Larry (Kym) of Presho, Daniel of Presho and Dale (Steph) of Ft. Pierre; daughter Marilyn (John) Olson of Ft. Thompson; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and brother Louie (Emma) Mitchell of Wood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Gary, two sisters: Louise and Esther, and three brothers: John, Charles and William.

Seth Abrahamson, 89
Funeral services for Seth Earl Abrahamson, 89 were held on Saturday December 19, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Belle Fourche with Rev. Gail Arnold officiating. Interment will be held in Pine Slope Cemetery, Belle Fourche.
Seth Earl Abrahamson died on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Fountain Springs Health Care in Rapid City. He was born on July 4, 1920, to Clara (Seath) and Peter Abrahamson in Lyman County, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Leitha, his brothers Lee and Mike Abrahamson, sister Thelma Swenson and an infant sister. He is survived by his daughter Joyce (Phil) Pearson of Rapid City, son Roger (Bobbie) of LaPorte, CO, and daughter Carol (Marc) Gress of Meridian, ID.
He has six beloved grandchildren, Paul Pearson, Andrea Summers, Brad Abrahamson, Jeff Abrahamson, Gwen Green and Greg Gress. Beloved great-grandchildren include Rebecca, Dominic and Evelynn Summers, Ian Seth and Jack Pearson, Shane and Annika Abrahamson, Nathan and Julia Abrahamson, and Alicia and Cameron Green. Also surviving are various cousins and their children, nieces and nephews, and his sister-in-law Georgia Abrahamson of Spearfish. Seth worked hard as a youth in Lyman County on his family’s small farm. He also talked about working for other farmers for “a dollar a day and room and board.” His father had died young, and Seth was there to help his mother after his older siblings had left the farm. He graduated Kennebec High School and worked for the CCC.
After his marriage to the love of his life, Leitha Ellis, they lived in Rapid City where he worked various jobs including Swanders Bakery, and helping to build Ellsworth AFB. They moved to Belle Fourche where he helped his father-in-law, Carl Ellis, build his business, Grandview Hatchery and Locker Plant. Later he worked for the Baroid and Colloid bentonite companies as a heavy equipment operator, and as a rural mail carrier. Again, he worked many and various jobs in order to support his family. He owned and operated two gas stations in Belle Fourche for many years. He worked for the Co-op company delivering propane to farmers and ranchers until he retired from that in 1985. He worked as a broker-realtor for Dakota Belle Realty for many years, and then took care of their signs for more years after retiring from the selling end of the business. He drove school bus for the Belle Fourche School System for many years.
The funeral service was held 2 pm Saturday December 19th, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Belle Fourche with Rev. Gail Arnold officiating. Interment was held in Pine Slope Cemetery, Belle Fourche. Arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.
Memorials are preferred to the United Methodist Church, Northern Hills Humane Society, and the Humane Society of Rapid City.
Kay Mowry Foley
Kay Frances (Mowry) Foley passed away September 23, 2009 after a short illness. She was buried at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
Kay Frances Mowry was born in Pierre, SD on December 3, 1941 to Ruth (McCormick) and Elwyn Mowry of Presho.
Kay attended country schools in the area and graduated from Presho High School in 1959. She attended Southern State Teachers College at Springfield and graduated with a diploma from secretarial school in 1960.
She married Dennis Enright in 1962, after Dennis came home from the service they moved to California. Kay worked for the same company for years.
In 2007 she married Virgil Foley and they resided in Perris, CA.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother Lee and husband Virgil.
