The cities of Presho and Reliance will hold municipal elections Tuesday, April 11 to elect candidates to their respective city council and town board.
As a service to voters in these communities the Lyman County Herald asked all candidates to participate in the Meet the Candidates forum. Questionnaires were sent to candidates and those who chose to submit their answers are published inside on page 3 of this week’s issue. Sample ballots will be published next week.
In Presho, all registered voters will vote in the mayor’s race but only those living in Ward III are eligible to elect one candidate to fill the Ward III vacancy on the city council.
Running for mayor of Presho is incumbent Mike Sprenger and Tony Urban.
In Ward III, incumbent Lance Mortenson is being challenged by Carl Brakke.
In Ward, I and II incumbents Roy England and Colby Brakke are unopposed for election to the 2-year terms on the city council.
The town of Reliance will elect one candidate to fill one 3-year term on the town board. Derrick Schmitt is challenging incumbent Jeff Williamson.
City elections will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 700 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Registered voters in the town of Reliance will vote at the Reliance Town Hall while Presho citizens will vote at the city office meeting room.
