On the April 17-18 weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kenobbie, Pierre, were visitors in the parental Blaine and Bev. Kenobbie home. On Sunday their children came for the day.
Monday evening, April 19, 2004, Verlyn and Jan Gruenig, attended Silver Leaf, Chapter #96, Order of the Eastern Star, Presho. Tuesday, Jan accompanied Peggy Stoddard, Plankinton, Worthy Grand Matron of South Dakota, to Topeka, Kansas, to attend the formal banquet and formal opening of the Grand Chapter of Kansas; they visited the past Grand Esther of Kansas, Delores Smith. Tuesday evening, Verlyn assisted with the Shrine Circus, Chamberlain. Saturday and Sunday Verlyn and Jan were in Sioux Falls assisting with the Shrine Circus.
Thursday evening, Verlyn Gruenig, accompanied by grandsons, Alex and Aaron Toupal, Platte, were fishing-Aaron was the best fisherman-he caught most of the fish!
Devotions met last Monday with 7 present.
Donna Boe was in Mitchell Sunday, April 18th.
Tristen David, son of John and Amber Schelske, was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sunday, April 25, 2004, with Pastor Brian Downs officiating. Sponsors were Brian and Jamie Morgan, Rapid City, best friends of John and Amber. After services John and Amber hosted luncheon for everyone in honor of Tristen's baptism. In attendance were grandparents Ralph and Janice Schelske; Kirk and Sandy Dulany and David and Kelly Patterson all of Rapid City; uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, friends and church members.
Last Tuesday Donna Boe attended the 75th Birthday Open House honoring Marlys Hallman at Casey's Cafe, Chamberlain.
Carl and Donna Peterson were in Pierre Friday. The visited over dinner at a cafe with Diana Peterson.
Thursday Donna Boe accompanied Gay Murphy to the Lyman County Historical Society Meeting, Kennebec. On Saturday, April 17th, Donna attended the Reliance Centennial Planning meeting.
The community expresses sympathy to the relatives of Delores Littau, daughter of Florence Steiger.
Lyle and Leola Peterson attended the Lyman County Historical Society meeting, Kennebec, Thursday.
Barbara Roth had a phone call from Leah Authier, who teaches in the Khartown, Sudan, Africa, American School. She lives within walking distance of the Nile River. She plans a trip to India, and after school is out she will return to the United States for a time.
Roland and Billy Mae Peterson worked at the Chamberlain Shrine Circus last Sunday through Tuesday.
Marcia, Darrin, Trenton and Garret Peterson, Kennebec, were weekend guests in the parental, grand parental and great grand parental Lyle and Leola Peterson home.
Janice Schelske attended the Lyman County Historical Society Meeting, Kennebec, Thursday.
Barbara Roth visited Verna Schmitt a week ago Thursday. Sunday Verna visited Barbara and Scrabble was enjoyed.
Kari Rogers, Vermillion, visited in the parental Charles and Mary Ann Rogers home Sunday afternoon.
Carrol and Dorothy Stewart received a phone call Sunday from Donna Stewart, Olympia, Washington.
Saturday Ila Wagner accompanied Cassie Thelen and Jenny Volmer and two children, Pierre, to visit the Anderson Greenhouses, later she spent the rest of the day at Thelen's.
