BankWest to close in Vivian

BankWest in Vivian has been serving the community since 1979. As of Friday, March 2, BankWest will no longer provide on-site staff based on decreased transaction levels and the cost to maintain and staff the location. BankWest may not have a teller at their location in Vivian after March 2, however, bank services will still be available for customers.
A state-of-the-art Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) has been installed in the lobby of the bank and will remain available for customers to use. This is not your typical ATM as it has many additional features.
The ITM will offer a live feed to a bank representative from Pierre, Rapid City, or the Sioux Falls office. The customer can simply pick up the phone located on the ITM and they are instantly connected with a teller seven days a week (except for federal holidays) from 7 am – 7 pm. Outside of those hours the machine can be used like any other bank ATM.
Since the bank is only staffed from 8 am – 12 pm Monday through Friday this will give customers greater flexibility for their banking needs.
Customers can make deposits, cash checks, withdraw funds, get change for a larger bill, make loan payments, transfer funds, and more. The ITM is very user friendly and bank representatives can assist you with using the new machine. If you currently have a safe deposit box at this branch you will have the option of transferring the contents of that box to a deposit box at the Kennebec or Pierre branch locations.
