Nominating petitions for city elections now available
Registered voters living within the city limits of Presho, Kennebec or Reliance are eligible to file a nominating petition for a position on their respective town board or city council before the February 22, 2019 deadline. Presho elects candidates by Wards and has three seats on the six person council up for election in 2019 All vacancies are for 2-year terms. In Ward I the seat currently held by Roy England, in Ward II Colby Brakke and in Ward III the chair held by Carl Brakke are up for election. The position of Mayor, currently held by Mike Sprenger, will also be on the ballot. If you have questions regarding ward boundaries please contact the Presho City Office at 895-2337. If you have changed residences within the city limits of Presho, you may need to change your physical address with the clerk. The town of Kennebec is governed by a town board consisting of five trustees and an elected chairman. The three-year term currently held by Jared Schelske is up for election. Reliance has a three-person board with an elected president. The seat held by April Reis, a 3-year term, is up for election in 2019. Reis currently serves as the board president. Nominating petitions may be picked up at the local finance office in each town and must be completed and filed no later than 5:00 pm Friday, February 22, 2019. If more petitions are filed than there are seats open, all city or town elections will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
