Mid-Dakota Medical Center CEO Maureen Cadwell announced that Dr. Michael Crandell has accepted a position as Associate Medical Director for the Sioux Valley Health Plan in Sioux Falls effective July 1, 2004.

After June I5, Dr. Crandell will no longer see patients at Mid-Dakota Hospital, Mid-Dakota Medical Center Long-term Care Facility, Mid-Dakota Clinic/Kennebec or St. Joseph's Indian School Health Center.

"We are sorry to see Dr. Crandell leave this area, but we wish him well in his new position with the Sioux Valley Health Plan", said Cadwell. She added, "We are sensitive to the concerns of Dr. Crandell's patients. We sincerely hope that they will continue to seek care from one of the healthcare providers at Mid-Dakota Medical Center who provide care at Mid-Dakota Hospital, Long-Term Care Facility, and Mid-Dakota Clinics in Kennebec, Oacoma and Chamberlain."

Mid-Dakota Clinic/Kennebec will remain open Monday through Friday and Mid-Dakota Clinic providers will provide services in Kennebec approximately 3 days each week.

Mid-Dakota Medical Center Providers include: Jitendra Thakkar, MD, Internal Medicine; John B. Jones, MD, Family Practice; Tonya Struble, CNP, Nurse Practitioner; and Jeff Konstanz, PA-C, Physician Assistant.
